My issue: Plastic (litter) pollution
Meal Challenge Blog Post - C.I.P
For C.I.P we were given a challenge, and our challenge was to get into groups of six people and we have to come up with a healthy meal that will be able to feed six people, each person in our group contributed $2 towards our group to help buy the ingredients that we need to make our delicious healthy meal. Below is a google slide that my classmates and I put together!
Reflection:
I really enjoyed working with students from Mt and Ds to complete this challenge, every member in our group was so enthusiastic towards this challenge. My favourite part of this challenge was making our meal which was Healthy Fruit Smoothies! In our smoothies we added a lot of fruits such a Kiwifruits, bananas, grapes, also we had yoghurt with mixed berries and some milk.
One of the hard parts of this challenge was calculating the prices and also making sure that the prices of our ingredients will not be over $12 which was our budget.

Hurumanu P.E Blogging.
Last week for Hurumanu P.E we participated in the Beep Test, it was one of the challenging fitness tests I've done. After the beep test we had a game of bench ball, we had two games playing at the same time while one team supports teams playing. In our game Bench Ball we were needed to play in our groups and we really needed teamwork!
What makes a good team player? Skills and attributes do you need?
My role within my team is Coach for Attack. I have the responsibility to teach team members (those who are scoring) skills, such as, passing the ball, strong passes, running skills, warm ups and overall being fit.
How could you be a better team player?
To be a better team player we need to listen to each others ideas and opinions which will help the team become better
Making sure that you are doing the same thing as your team, but not off-task
Always being active and ready, and keen on what our team's doing, and completing tasks, activities by my personal best.

- To become a good team player we need to cooperate with each other to make a good team.
- All member must contribute to their team in some way.
- Communication Skills. To become a good team player we need to communicate with our team members especially when we are playing a game.
- To become a good team player you will always need to stay focus and on task, and always be a helping hand to your team.

DMIC Maths Blog Post
For DIMC Maths this week we have been given a new challenging and interesting maths problem to solve within our DMIC Maths groups.
Word Problem:
There was MrMorrison and Rose, they both were given a bottle of medicine.
MrMorrison’s bottle was 300ml and he has to take 10ml every 3 hours.
Rose has a smaller bottles its 90ml Ne she has to take 5ml every 6 hours. They have
to take the medicine between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Who will use up their medicine first?
Working outs:
MrMorrison can take 4 doses of medicine
Rose can take 10ml a day and have it 2 times within 7am and 7pm.
It will take MrMorrison 7 days and 6 hours to finish his medicine
To help solve this Problem we also used a graph, by using this graph we worked out that out of MrMorrison or Rose will use up their medicine first. Another good reason why we used a graph is that we can compare out of MrMorrison and Rose.
In our groups we used a lot of teamwork and some days this week some of our members in our groups were absent so we shared our learning with other group and compared our finding outs which helped us understand more about the problem and also helped us get the answer.
Our focus in our group this week was to make sure that everyone contributes to our group by either help by sharing their ideas and contributions or by writing down our finding outs and I think we did a great job
Below are some photos of our work and also a photo of our graph.

Individual Learning Log for Digital Technology
Analysis/ Summary thoughts of video:
Social: Social media can be a great source for communicating
With others, But it can have negative effects, such as No privacy
and people can stalk your account on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
and other social media.
Environmental Issues:
Our environment have a lot of issues normally caused by us, such as
Plastic bags pollution and this could affect our marine life animals
And can affect our ocean.
Ethical Issues:
One of a ethical Issues could be that it is not ok to smoke in the house
especially when the kids are around, as it can affect their health.
My Brainstorm for an Issue I am interested in:
Ethical:
If you are pregnant and you are carrying a baby who has down-
Syndrome, even though they may look different but it's not ok
to get rid of the baby.
Environmental:
One of the biggest environmental issues are Climate Change, Global
Warming, and Pollution. What we do to fix this issue is to drive less or
Switch to a lower-emission vehicle.
Social:
For social Issues I'm Interested in Cyberbully because if you are getting
bullied online that is horrible and we all don't deserve to be bullied
On social Media.

Drama blog post
Drama
Food pyramid:
Below is a chart or a food pyramid that I have created in Google Docs, one of our task this week for Drama was that we had to create a Food pyramid of Foods and drinks that we should eat daily and we were also looking at foods that can keep us healthy and we should eat more often, and foods that aren’t very healthy and we shouldn’t eat it often.
As you can see in the food pyramid I’ve created I’ve splitted it into six groups, On the top we have Sweet and Fats, in that column there are foods such as, Fizzy, (cans), Lollies, Packet of Chips and a lot of other sweets. I personally think that these food are not healthy, I don’t mean you can’t eat them at all, but specific times but not all the time.
The second column we have Meat and fish, in this column we have foods including fish (i.e flounders, fried fish,) and meat (i.e Steak, lamb chops).
The third Column we have Milk products, in this column we have food such as, milk (i.e milkshakes and drinks including milk products).
The fourth column we have fruits, in this column there are fruits including Apples, Pineapples, and bananas. I also highly recommend to eat some fruits every day because it’s very good for your health. Also it helps you start of the day with a BANG!
The fifth column we have Vegetables, Such as Carrots, and celery.
Also recommend to have at least 1-2 vegetables and fruits each day. This is to keep you active and also learning ready!
Lastly we have the sixth column, which includes food such as Bread, rice, and Cereals. These food are a must for everyday. If you eat bread or rice everyday it’s going to keep you fit and healthy!
Donut Activity!
Today for Drama we participated in this activity is was called a Donut. We all had to get into 2 circles one circle in the middle and those in the middle have to face the other on the outside. We we’re give at least 2 minutes to talk with the person you’re with and we were to talk about what we did in the Holidays or Weekend and the feelings we had, for example in the holidays Rarotonga and I we went to auckland for one week, we had an amazing time with family up there, we went to Rainbow’s End, we played Golf and just spend the most of it with our family.
This games helped us identify the four aspects of Hauora such as feelings, and Spiritual and Physical.
Chorus of movement - Freeze frame
For the past few weeks in Drama we have been learning about Freeze frames. Basically we get into group maximum of three or four and we have to create a freeze frame and hold our actions for at least three seconds. It is kind of like a moment in time. Our freeze frames are mostly based around the four aspect of Hauora, Our group and I we did physical, sometimes we would make a freeze frame of us running around or eating healthy fruits and vegetables. It is a lot of fun especially with working with others!

What is that White Powder - Home Chemistry
Today you will be a Forensic Chemist.
A bag of white powder has been confiscated by the airport customs. You need to find out what white powder it is?
Aim: To learn about the makeup of different white powders.
There are a number of different white powders in our everyday life. Some of these are harmful and others are not. Test the four white powders listed to see which one has been found at the airport.

2. Each squared had to be named out of Cornflour, Salt, Sugar
and Baking Soda.
3. The teachers had to add a teaspoon of each of the ingredients mentioned above onto the 4 squares
4. Then we had to investigate which powder is the same as the mystery powder by adding three drops of Vinegar, Water and Iodine.
5. While we are pouring three drops into each square and observing we had to record our finding outs on the chart.
6. After that, we had to get the mystery powder and add 3 drops of Vinegar, Water and Iodine and compare the results to our finding outs above and see which powder out of Baking soda, Salt, and Sugar is the same as the mystery powder.
Findings:
Write a paragraph about your findings.

Write a paragraph about your findings.
For this experiment we had to investigate, observe and match the 4 powders and find out which powder is the same as the mystery powder.
In our experiment with our group and I, we found out that the mystery powder is Baking Soda. We think it's baking Soda because once the three drops of vinegar was added it fizzed up and made some small bubbles just like it did with the Vinegar and Baking Soda that we tested before (finding outs).
Below are some photos of evidence for our investigation, it also shows a photo of our first Baking Soda test (black Card Paper) and how it matches the mystery Powder.
Today I learnt how to observe different powders and how to tell the differences in things, it is also known as Forensic Science.
Forensic Science is when you are collecting information or evidence
to help solve a case or problem. Forensic Science is mostly used when
solving a criminal case. By doing this they run D.N.A test, Footprints, and fingerprints and a heap of other stuff related to Forensic Science.
I enjoyed doing this experiment and I learnt a lot of new fun stuff!
