Art Hurumanu Camera Angles

Armed with a working knowledge of camera shots, angles, and perspective techniques, you'll be on the way to creating easy-to-read storyboards, which communicate your vision as you intended it.Below are some Camera angles that our group think are best to use in our Stop Motion Film.
  • The medium Shot: A subject is captured from around the knees or waist to the top of the head. We can't see their entire body, but we are close enough to establish a primary connection with the person.
  • Zoom: Probably one of the most well-known camera angle - zooming gives the impression of moving closer or further away from the subject. It can be used effectively to magnify a certain focus point in the frame.
  • Full shot: Full shot is when it shows the entire body of the subject from head to toe. This shot tends to focus more on the character's movement and gestures, rather than their state of mind.
  • Close Shot: With a close shot, the subject's head/face takes up the majority of the frame and therefore, allows their reaction and emotions to dictate the scene.
  • Extreme Close Shot: An extreme close shot is so close that only one specific detail, such as a person's eye or mouth can be seen.
  • Up Shot: An up shot is taken from below the-eye-level of the subject and creates the perception that the viewer is looking at them from a lower perspective.
  • Down Shot: A down shot, in contrast to an up shot, is taken from the eye-level of the subject and can make the subject seem vulnerable or powerless.
  • Over the Shoulder Shot: This type of shot is taken from behind the shoulder of another character and typically frames the subject in a medium or close shot.
  • Point of View Shot: The point of view shot, also know as POV Shot, depicts an angle that shows what a character is looking at. This type of shot allows the viewer to take on the perspective of the character and begin to understand their state of mind on a more personal level.

Art Blogpost 26th August 2019

Art Hurumanu:

Who is in our group?
In our group we have Janel, Rowina, Bianca and myself.

What are your roles?
Janel and Bianca are our camera ladies, they will be in control of our camera and filming.
Rowina is our drawer she will mostly be drawing our pictures.
I am the Director, my role is to make sure that our groups plan are going the right way and that we are all on task and we all know what to do.

How does your story show Manakitanga?
In our story we have a teenager girl named Ana. Ana's parents have divorced leaving just Ana and her mother, lately Ana's mother has been facing Financial Problems such as she doesn't have enough money to pay their bills, no even enough money for daily food! Then one day a kind-hearted person left a box of food in front of their front door, this wasn't only for one day but nearly every month. Manaakitanga in this story is the Family's angel food provider.

Include a photo of your storyboard:

Digital Technology BlogPost

Throughout the past 8 weeks in Digital Technology each of us have been working individually on a problem, I have been working on a environmental problem which is "Ocean Pollution", we were first given a template to help us research for our problem, after we've done our research we had to turn our problem into a digital source creating either a Game, app or narrative. Gamefroot is an ideal platform to develop, test and publish educational games. Gamefroot is designed mostly to be used by schools to teach basic skills in programming and coding. Applab is a web-based programming environment that makes it easy for students to create and share short computer programs. We also ahd the choice of using Scratch which is similar to Applab.  Because I didn't have a device for the majority of the week in Digi Tech I decided to write a narrative based on "Ocean Pollution". Below is a link to my research template  and my story on a Google Slide.

Reflection:
For Digital Technology I personally think I did well with other things such as Creating a narrative, but sometimes I would struggle such as coding or using Gamefroot and Scratch. I think I did well sometimes following instructions and getting on with my work if I don't get distracted. I think I worked well by myself other than worked in groups. My favourite session on Digital Technology was doing Research on "Ocean Pollution" and playing with the Spheros.

Sources I have used:

Reflection on Hurumanu "No I In Team"

Reflection on Hurumanu "No I In Team"

Hurumanu Maintenance Challenge?

  • Challenges?

I found converting the numbers and maths in the challenge hard because it was big numbers. And I found calculating the areas and perimeters difficult because I haven't done it before, but luckily I had other to help me.

  • Something you would like to like to learn/know?
I would like to learn more about area and perimeter. By accomplishing this I think I need practical work such as going out to find a perimeter of the court etc.

  • Did you enjoy it / why?
I would enjoy it sometimes when I know what I'm doing and when I'm not distracted by others.

  • P.E
Tapu ae, Dodgeball, Crash Pad, Multisports, Bench Ball -
From these games I've learnt some skills such as cooperating with others (teamwork), and one of the skills that these games help me improve was my aim.

Physical Skills:
For my physical skills I want to improve my speed (running) and jumping and also aim (target practicing).

I didn't want to learn anything in P.E because everything we already learnt in P.E was enjoyable. The sport I liked the most was Crash Pad because we got to tackle others.
