Giants among us: Tane Mahuta
Tane Mahuta, God of the Forest, is estimated to be 2,000 years old. He is 51.5 meters high, has a girth of 13.8 meters. He rises nearly 10 meters before there is any tapering in his trunk. He is the largest, best-known and most popular kauri. Overall I would love to be one of those people who get to go a visit the Tane Mahuta and make some good memories. ReplyDeleteI really like the way you've displayed your reasons for and against going to see Tāne Mahuta. I spent the first 21 years of my life in Northland and in all of that time I never got around to going to see him. I definitely want to though. What about you? If you were given the opportunity, would you go and see Tāne Mahuta?
